Biographies
The founders of Fortinberry Murray, Dr. Bob Murray
and Alicia Fortinberry are internationally-recognized experts
in leadership development and organizational change.
As consultants, speakers, trainers and executive
coaches, Bob and Alicia apply a highly practical,
research-backed approach to help organizations
build leadership that measurably enhances performance,
engagement, retention and the capacity for positive
change. Multinational

PricewaterhouseCoopers Global, PwC Australia, PwC
China / Hong Kong, Bain & Co, Macquarie, Oracle and
PepsiCo. They also work in the not-for-profit sector

Bob's early background is in clinical and business
psychology; Alicia's in psychotherapy, health writing
and corporate communications. For 20 years, they
have researched and worked together developing their
innovative techniques, and have taught at a number
of universities in the US including Duke, Tufts and
JFK, and in Australia at Sydney's Royal North Shore
Hospital. Their programs for leaders, psychologists

Bob and Alicia's book Creating Optimism is
an international best-seller and their latest book, Raising
an Optimistic Child, also published by McGraw-Hill,

is a New York Times best-seller.

Bob Murray, PhD
Bob received his Masters at Sydney University and his PhD in clinical
psychology at New York University. In the UK, his
work as a management consultant for firms such as
ICI and Hill Samuel Bank earned him a Fellowship of the British
Institute of Management. He has developed a ground-breaking method
for identifying limiting perspectives and behaviors within organizations
and creating a supportive relationship environment in the workplace
that brings about lasting change. He is quoted weekly in major publications
from The New
York Times to Entrepreneur.
Alicia Fortinberry, MS
Alicia received her Masters from Columbia University and studied
psychology and group dynamics with leaders in the field. Her extensive
experience in consulting, senior executive coaching and corporate communications
has helped her develop an astute, research-backed and pragmatic approach
to truly effective leadership. An award-winning writer and editor,
Alicia has written for Psychology Today, many major US women's
magazines and several Time Inc. and Dow Jones publications.
